Sales Associate - Key Holder

1 Bookstore Sales Associate Openings – PART TIME (10-20 hrs bi-weekly)

​

Allison The Bookman has been around for over 50 years serving the book needs of our community! We currently have an immediate opening for one Part-Time Key Holder - Sales Associate. Ideal candidates must be 18+. Please know that hours will be more than advertised during the training period then go back to the advertised hours after training is over.

​

This position can be physically demanding and quite memory intensive. Proficiency in reading, writing and speaking English is required.

Below are the position details:

 

 Sales Associate I

The Sales Associate I reports directly to the store Manager or the shift supervisor. In this role you are responsible for tending to retail sales and the following specific duties:

 

1. Opening and Closing duties according to the current Open and Close checklist. This includes the security and accuracy of the cash bank and credit counts and reports for the day’s sales.

2. Customer sales check out through the Point of Sale Terminal.

3. Used book trades and issue of appropriate Credits.

4. Customer assistance and recommending items for the customer to purchase.

5. Properly labeling new and used stock and placing them in the appropriate locations on the store shelves and displays.

6. General store cleanliness and customer safety.

7. Assisting with window displays

7. Other tasks and special projects as assigned from time to time by management.

Before you write your letter, there is information about our store which we feel you should know.  We primarily hire part-time staff.  Working evenings and weekends is expected. Our store needs and schedules do change from time to time. 

 

If you're a Post-Secondary Student applying, please make sure to include your schedule if you have it - the more flexibility the better.
